XenServer and RELDATA storage solution reduce datacenter costs by fully utilizing the capacity and computing power of servers and storage system. RELDATA Unified Storage System consolidates IP SAN and NAS storage capabilities within same enclosure, which makes it the perfect storage solution for XenServer virtualization.

Maximize Your Open Source Hypervisor Environment

XenServer from Citrix is a powerful open source hypervisor in the marketplace and is used to run extremely large and complex virtualized server farms, most notably the Amazon Elastic Compute Cloud (EC2). XenServer has two access modes; block LUNs via Fibre Channel or iSCSI and NFS (Network File System) datastores for production volumes and replication respectively.

XenServer adds the StorageLink set of technologies with automated storage discovery and sophisticated templates for cloning virtual machines. The streamlined RELDATA architecture is ideal for reliable configuration and maximum throughput. As important, XenServer does not impose it’s own file system but instead directly leverages the native storage capabilities provided by RELDATA.

RELDATA is certified with the XenServer Storage Repository creation wizard. For block SAN volumes, XenServer extends the industry standard VHD (Virtual Hard Disk) format across iSCSI. For file based operations, VHDs are stored directly in NFS. RELDATA’s ability to support both iSCSI and NFS as well as virtualization, snapshot, and replication capabilities precisely fill the gaps for a complete storage solution for XenServer installations.
